Research Scientist, Drug Discovery
The Scientist I is responsible for performing hands‑on laboratory experiments in support of analytical method development. This role supports method development and testing of mRNA drug substance and drug product. This role has the opportunity to shape cutting‑edge cell and gene therapies through their assay development.
This position is an on‑site role that reports to the Senior Scientist, R&D and is part of the Analytical Method Development team located in Fargo, ND.
In This Role, You Will Have The Opportunity To- Grow into an SME role for multiple analytical methods
- Design and execute novel analytical method research
- Design and execute methods relating to client needs
- Train other scientists/analysts
- Represent Aldevron at conferences with presentations
- Hands on experience with Capillary Electrophoresis, HPLC, UPLC, and/or LC-MS method execution/development
- Experience with chromatography data systems such as Chromeleon, Empower, Open Lab, etc.
- Skilled in experimental design with a history of using experimental outcomes to inform future development tasks.
- Familiarity with molecular biology techniques such as sample preparation, qPCR, capillary electrophoresis, ELISA, etc.
- Ph.D. in Analytical Chemistry, Chemistry, Biochemistry, or related discipline with 1+ years of experience; M.S. with 3+ years; B.S. with 5+ years.
- Working in a GMP environment
- Large molecule mass spectrometry such as DNA, RNA, or proteins
- History of developing robust analytical methods for QC release testing
