Deli​/Bakery- Part Time

Position Summary

This role is responsible to work independently to prepare food, fry, package, display, and stock deli and/or bakery products; to contribute to the financial best interest of the store; and meet company guidelines for guest experience, safety, and food safety.

• Prepare and produce bakery/deli products for the production planner.
• Package and label bakery/deli products according to program plans.
• Merchandise bakery/deli products to meet flight plan / merchandising expectations.
• Stock backroom with bakery/deli products—rotate and date cases/buckets.
• Work as a team with other departments and stores to achieve growth in Spartan Nash Retail stores.
• Notify the bakery/deli manager when products and supplies need reordering.
• Perform basic arithmetic (adding, subtracting, multiplying, division) as required by recipes.
• Communicate tasks, recipes, weights and measures, and cleaning steps completed to other associates.
• Follow all PPE and safety guidelines.
• Follow all food safety and cleaning expectations.
• Follow guest experience guidelines.
• May be assigned tasks in other departments based on customer experience needs.
• Additional responsibilities may be assigned as needed.

• High school diploma (GED) preferred.
• One year of retail or related experience preferred.
• Ability to read, write, comprehend, and interpret documents.
• Basic mathematical skills.
• Detail oriented.

Must be able to lift or move up to 30 pounds frequently and up to 50 pounds occasionally. Stand and walk for extended periods. Bend, stoop, twist, and turn frequently. Work in a retail store environment with varied temperatures, exposures to outside weather, and low to moderate noise levels. Travel requirements vary by assignment.
