Description & Details:
This project is a Soybean Commodity Survey funded by USDA-APHIS. The person hired into this position will lead the survey efforts with the goal of early detection of invasive or emerging soybean pests and pathogens. This will be a collaborative project between several faculty members within PPMB specializing in fungal pathogens, nematology, entomology, and the NDSU Plant Diagnostic Lab.
Work Schedule:
12-month, full-time with possibility of renewal based on performance and funding
Hiring Range:
$50,000-$55,000/depending on experience
Pay is based on several factors, including budget, labor market, prior experience, skills, knowledge, abilities, education, licensure and/or certification and other business considerations.
Minimum Qualifications:
* PhD in Plant Pathology, Entomology, Agronomy, Biology, or related field.
* Experience in basic molecular techniques such as DNA extraction and PCR.
* Demonstrate ability to work independently and report findings.
* Excellent communication, organization skills, and mentoring skills.
Preferred Qualifications:
* Experience in applied, field-based research.
* Experience in diagnostics of plant pathogens and/or insect pests.
