Position SummaryThe Data Center Campus Security Manager at Applied Digital will be responsible for developing, implementing, and managing comprehensive physical security programs to protect our datacenter campus and other critical infrastructure located in Fargo, ND. This role requires a strategic thinker with strong leadership skills, extensive experience in physical security, and the ability to work effectively across multiple teams and locations.
Key Responsibilities- Develop and execute a comprehensive physical security strategy for all Applied Digital facilities on the Fargo campus, ensuring alignment with company objectives and industry best practices.
- Establish and maintain security standards and protocols for the Fargo campus, ensuring compliance with relevant company policy, regulations and industry standards.
- With support from the Corporate Security Team and in conjunction with APLD Physical Security Standards, oversee the design, implementation, and management of physical security systems, including access control, surveillance, and intrusion detection.
- Conduct regular risk assessments and vulnerability analyses to identify and mitigate potential security threats.
- Develop and maintain emergency response and crisis management plans, including coordination with local law enforcement and emergency services.
- Lead Security response to incidents and emergency situations on campus.
- Lead and manage internal and external teams of security professionals, providing guidance, training, and support to ensure high performance and compliance with security policies and procedures.
- Collaborate with cross‑functional teams, including IT, facilities management and legal, to ensure comprehensive security coverage and seamless integration of security measures.
- Investigate security incidents and breaches, conduct thorough analyses and implement corrective actions to prevent future occurrences.
- Develop and manage the security budget, ensuring cost‑effective solutions and investments.
- Monitor and analyze security metrics, providing regular reports and recommendations to senior leadership.
- 10+ years of security operations experience in a corporate environment or government agency with mission‑critical operations. Experience with data centers is preferred.
- Self‑motivated, results oriented, action driven.
- Advanced knowledge of physical security operations, system design and risk management.
- A bachelor’s degree from a four‑year college or university (preferred), or law enforcement experience, or a U.S. military background with an honorable discharge, or a combination of both educational and relevant, job‑related work experience.
- Customer focus and experience working with top Fortune 100 customers.
- Experience with security systems and software platforms required, preferably including Lenel, Milestone, Axis Communications, etc.
- Strong commitment to and understanding of APLD security policies, rules and procedures; ability to influence, help write and roll out future policies.
