The HVAC Truck-based Mechanic will service and repair commercial and industrial heating, ventilation, and air conditioning systems using advanced equipment. The role requires a minimum of five years’ experience in HVAC mechanical troubleshooting, relevant certifications, and completion of OSHA training. The position includes company vehicle use, paid training, and benefits, emphasizing safety and career advancement within a unionized environment.

Work Location: Ellendale, ND. While the official Johnson Controls office is located in Fargo, ND, day-to-day work will primarily take place in Ellendale. We are also open to candidates residing in nearby areas such as Jamestown, Edgeley, Oakes or Aberdeen.

Do you have HVAC experience? We are looking for HVAC systems serviceman who have worked in residential, light commercial and/or heavy commercial markets to join our team to work with the most advanced heavy commercial and industrial cutting-edge equipment.

Journeyman must be skilled craftsmen in their trade, and we prefer a minimum of five (5) years actual, practical working experience in the HVAC plumbing, pipe fitting and/or mechanical equipment service industry. You may be required to pass a satisfactory examination as to your special skill.

What you will do We are looking for a skilled HVAC systems serviceman who have worked in residential, light commercial and/or heavy commercial markets to join our team to work the most advanced heavy commercial and industrial cutting-edge equipment.

Servicemen must have practical working experience in residential, light commercial or commercial mechanical equipment. May be required to satisfactorily pass an examination to identify special skills. Scope of work shall be limited to commercial HVACR service. Servicemen may partner with Journeymen in the repair of centrifugal, steam turbines, and absorption machines, open-drive screw chillers and ammonia systems.

Perform maintenance, repair and replacement services on commercial heating and cooling systems.

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Five (5) years of Commercial and/or industrial, mechanical troubleshooting experience in the HVAC industry.
• Ability to commit to a 30-Hour OSHA Certification which is to be done after hours and weekends is required upon hire.
• EPA Universal Refrigerant Certification.
• Computer savvy with good verbal and written communication skills.

• Refrigeration Certification preferred.
