Position Summary
The Lead Service Technician supports the maintenance, repair, and rebuild of agricultural air seeding and precision planting equipment in both shop and field environments. The role provides day‑to‑day guidance, coordinates service work, and supports other team members. It does not have formal supervisory responsibilities.
Travel Requirements
This role requires consistent weekly travel to customer locations to perform field service work, typically Monday through Thursday with potential extensions. Travel schedules may vary based on customer needs and seasonal demands.
Key Responsibilities
- Identify issues and complete repairs on air seeding and precision planting equipment.
- Disassemble, inspect, and reassemble mechanical components and systems.
- Perform field service work directly at customer locations.
- Safely operate hand tools, power tools, and diagnostic equipment.
- Drive company service vehicles to transport tools, parts, and equipment.
- Co‑ordinate daily service work and support team members in completing jobs.
- Ensure work is completed safely, efficiently, and to a high‑quality standard.
- Maintain accurate and organized work practices.
- Communicate clearly with team members and leadership regarding repair status, priorities, and needs.
- Maintain a clean, safe, and professional work environment.
- Keep accurate accounting of inventory used on jobs and documentation that includes pictures and video.
Qualifications
- Experience working with agricultural or heavy equipment strongly preferred.
- Strong mechanical aptitude with solid understanding of mechanical systems and repair practices.
- Proficient with hand tools, power tools, and general shop equipment.
- Strong troubleshooting and problem‑solving skills.
- Self‑motivated and able to work independently with minimal supervision.
- Willingness to travel weekly for field service work.
- Physically capable of lifting 50 lbs and performing hands‑on mechanical work.
- Strong attention to detail, reliability, and work ethic.
- Ability to take initiative and support others in a team‑based environment.
- Valid driver’s license and clean driving record required. Class A CDL preferred.
- Agricultural or farming background is a strong plus.

The pay range for this role is: 80,000 – 120,000 USD per year (Main Office).
