* Maintain and repair electrical hardware and equipment in classrooms, offices, and labs: i.e. Lights and power.
* Installation and maintenance of card access system.
* Heating and cooling systems, pump repair.
* Electrical lab repair
* Maintain safety standards set by National and State codes.
* Repair and/or replacement of damaged electrical tubing and equipment.
* Maintain fire alarm and building monitoring equipment.
* Performing on campus utility locates.
* Installation of new equipment and remodeling of campus buildings.
* Calculate load for new equipment to determine feeder size.
* Plan and lay out methods to be used for installation of equipment.
* Removal/add electrical equipment and circuits (outlets, switches, motors, piping), electrical panels, and lights to eliminate hazardous working conditions.
* Install street/sidewalk lighting.
* Repair/replace damaged poles.
* Repair broken underground cable.
* General repair (bulbs, photocells, lens, etc.).
Work Schedule:
7:30am to 4:00pm with rotating "On call" schedule
Hiring Range: $65,000 - $76,500 year DOE
Pay is based on several factors, including budget, labor market, prior experience, skills, knowledge, abilities, education, licensure and/or certification and other business considerations.
Minimum Qualifications:
* Electrical Technology
* Ability to lift heavy equipment and climb ladders.
* Must be able to perform duties under various work conditions which include hot and cold temperatures, confined spaces, and elevated platforms.
Minimum
Licenses/Certifications:
* National Electrical Code.
* Five years' work experience as a journeyman in electrical maintenance or construction.
Preferred Qualifications:
* A.S.

Core Competencies:
* ND Class "A" Journeyman License. Requires 8 hours of classroom training per year.
* Must possess a valid driver's license.
* Computer skills to include Windows and maintenance management software.
* Oral communication and customer service skills.
* Use of electrical multi meters, lifts, basket truck, trencher, wire pullers, and conduit bending tools.
