Job Description

Master Licensed Electrician, under minimal supervision, assembles, plans, routes, installs, and repairs wiring and other electrical components and equipment necessary to install engineered control and security systems. The role contributes to a safe work culture and may oversee a project installation team depending on project size and scope.

Electrical Wiring/Installation
  • Plan layout and installation of electrical wiring and equipment based on job specifications and local codes
  • Connect wires to electrical components to create a complete and operational system
  • Test electrical systems or continuity of circuits using devices such as ohmmeters and voltmeters to ensure compatibility and safety
  • Use a variety of tools, including power construction equipment, measuring devices, power tools, and testing equipment such as ammeters
  • Place conduit, pipes, or tubing inside designated partitions, walls, or other concealed areas, and pull insulated wires or cables through the conduit to complete circuits between boxes
  • Work from ladders, scaffolds, or roofs to install, maintain, or repair electrical wiring or equipment
  • Responsible for personal and team safety on jobs, including pre‑task planning and toolbox talks
  • Assemble, install, test, or maintain electrical or electronic wiring or equipment using hand tools or power tools
Documentation
  • Prepare as‑built documents and provide them to the Design team
  • Complete and submit labor and expense reports and paperwork in a timely, complete, and accurate manner
  • Prepare completed job documentation and participate in operational verification of systems
  • Participate in or develop customer acceptance procedure plans
  • Monitor and manage project installation budgets, notifying leadership of potential problems in advance or as they arise
  • Submit regular labor productivity reports for each managed project
Material And Equipment
  • Prepare installation material orders and submit purchase order requests for specialized install materials such as wire, conduit, and hangers; visit the job site to obtain material information
  • Schedule delivery of equipment and installation materials to the job site
  • Monitor assigned jobs for material changes or make change‑order recommendations to the Design team; notify leadership of changes in material requirements
  • Maintain close contact with installation personnel and respond to material contingencies as they arise
Project Planning
  • Participate in project hand‑off meetings, coordinating with leadership to schedule installation resources and field labor to meet project schedules
  • Examine job contract plans, specifications, submittal documents, and review with Design team to get a complete picture of the system; visit the job site for engineering layout information
  • Prepare sketches or follow blueprints to determine wiring or equipment locations and ensure compliance with building and safety codes
Other Responsibilities
  • Maintain proficient product knowledge, procedures, and methods, continuously learning advanced product applications
  • Stay up to date on installation standards, safety training, and current building codes relevant to the scope of work
  • Manage own backlog to ensure timely and accurate job completion; keep field personnel informed of job status and elevate problems as needed
  • Possibly responsible for basic program duplication, assistance, and/or commissioning of unitary control devices such as VAV units
  • Participate in startup procedures and make minor modifications to control programs under direction from the Controls System Specialist
  • Mentor and train Controls Installation Specialists I and II
What We're Looking For In You
  • Associate's degree preferred in electrical construction or a related field, or 5‑7 years of equivalent experience
  • 5+ years of experience with mechanical and electrical systems
  • 5+ years of experience with test equipment, including multi‑meters and digital analyzers
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office
  • Proficient knowledge of building codes
  • Strong ability to read and interpret blueprints, diagrams, submittals, specifications, software/systems, programs, schematics, and operation/product manuals
  • Proficient understanding of PLCs, variable frequency drives, and automation controls
  • Proficient understanding of HVAC systems, including components and processes

Pay Range

$27.32 – $40.97 per hour. The actual salary offer will vary by candidate based on specific skills, qualifications, experience, and location.
