Position: Maintenance Tech 2 - University Square, Fargo

Overview

Maintenance Tech 2 – University Square, Fargo, ND. This role is a critical member of the maintenance team responsible for solving problems for residents by ensuring requests and repairs are completed reliably, timely, and safely. The Maintenance Technician 2 identifies and resolves issues, completes service requests, and performs repairs in accordance with operating and safety standards. The position emphasizes delivering exceptional customer service and a professional, caring experience for residents, client-owners, and team members.

Starting pay
: $21 per hour (and more based on experience)

Job Duties / Responsibilities
  • Complete assigned service requests related to repairs and upkeep of properties, including heating, plumbing, electrical, appliances, carpentry, flooring, HVAC, and other general repairs. Recommend replacement or repair as necessary and ensure work is professional and clean after completion.
  • Prepare open apartments for rental within 24 to 72 hours, coordinating the work of other staff or vendors as needed.
  • Participate in ongoing training to build and maintain knowledge and skills to excel in the role.
  • Build and maintain long-term relationships with residents by addressing requests, questions, and concerns, and referring to the manager or maintenance team as appropriate.
  • Complete and document daily building inspections with a focus on proactive maintenance.
  • Ensure the attractive internal and external appearance of all buildings and grounds, including removing debris and weeds and reporting maintenance needs.
  • Collaborate with others to train and pass on knowledge and to deliver a caring, professional experience for residents.
Experience and Education
  • High School diploma, GED, or equivalent; equivalent education with one to two years of related experience and/or training is preferred.
  • Certifications and licensure requirements may be dictated by business needs and/or local, state, and federal laws for a region or location.
  • Valid driver’s license, vehicle, vehicle insurance, and a clean driving record for the past 3 years.
  • Proficiency in English (reading, writing, and verbal communication).
  • Demonstrated proficiency and quality of advanced maintenance skills.
Qualifications
  • Previous maintenance experience; strong handyman skills and knowledge of maintenance repairs.
  • High attention to detail and pride in completing jobs.
  • Ability to work with others to share knowledge and train peers.
  • Enjoys interacting with residents while performing maintenance duties.
Compensation and Benefits
  • Incentive potential to earn up to $5.21 more per hour.
