As Pedigree Technologies expands its installation capacity nationwide, we're growing our field team with a Field Installation Technician based in the Fargo/Moorhead area. This hands-on, field-first role focuses on executing hardware installations at customer sites with precision and efficiency, working closely with the Installation Services team to deliver a seamless customer experience.
Job Duties and Responsibilities On-Site Installations- Perform hands-on installation of Pedigree Technologies hardware — GPS/telematics devices, sensors, cameras, and wiring harnesses across a variety of vehicles and equipment configurations, following established procedures and quality standards.
- Complete multiple installations efficiently per service call and conduct post-installation testing to confirm systems are functioning correctly before leaving the site.
- Diagnose and resolve hardware issues during installation, and route, secure, and terminate cables and wiring per vehicle safety standards and company guidelines.
- Work with electronic, telematics, and telecommunications systems, adapting quickly to new configurations and escalating complex issues to engineering with detailed field notes.
- Serve as a professional on-site representative, maintaining clear communication with customers and walking them through completed installations to build confidence in the solution.
- Accurately document installation activities — parts used, time on site, issues encountered and photograph installations for quality review and compliance records.
- Maintain inventory of tools and equipment, communicate supply needs proactively, and adhere to quality standards throughout the installation process.
- Coordinate with the Vice President of Customer Success and Operations Administrator on scheduling, logistics, and project prioritization.
- Participate in training on new hardware and installation methods, provide field-level feedback to improve documentation and processes, and support additional duties as assigned.
This role requires the candidate to be based in the Fargo, ND / Moorhead, MN metro area, with regular travel to customer sites regionally and, as needed, more broadly. Relocation assistance is not available; candidates must reside in or relocate to the area before their start date.
Qualifications- High school diploma or equivalent GED required; technical or trade certification a plus.
- Mechanical background with hands-on experience in electronics, automotive, heavy equipment, or related field installation work.
- Working knowledge of electronic systems, cabling, wiring, and telecommunications or telematics hardware.
- Ability to climb ladders, bend, kneel, crawl, and work in confined or elevated spaces for extended periods, with the physical stamina to remain on your feet throughout the workday.
- Strong attention to detail, effective communication skills, and a commitment to quality workmanship on every job.
- Willingness to learn and train on Pedigree Technologies’ proprietary hardware and installation systems.
- Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation; ability to travel as needed and approved by department lead.
