Vocational Rehabilitation (VR) Career Placement Specialist

The Vocational Rehabilitation division is seeking a Vocational Rehabilitation (VR) Career Placement Specialist to serve communities in multiple locations across North Dakota. As a VR Career Placement Specialist, you will empower individuals to achieve meaningful employment that aligns with their skills, interests, and career goals. Your work will help people build confidence, gain independence, and create a path toward long term career success.

In this role, you will partner with individuals receiving Vocational Rehabilitation services to identify employment opportunities that match their strengths and aspirations. You will spend time throughout your assigned service area building relationships with local employers, learning about workforce needs, and connecting qualified candidates with meaningful employment opportunities. You will educate employers on the benefits of building an inclusive workforce and hiring individuals with diverse backgrounds and abilities.

You will also collaborate with employers to identify and implement reasonable workplace accommodations that support employee success. In addition, you will provide individualized job search assistance by helping participants prepare resumes, complete employment applications, and develop the skills needed to secure and maintain employment.

To be considered for this position:
You must have a high school diploma or equivalent and at least one (1) year of professional experience working with individuals with disabilities. You must possess a valid driver's license and be able to travel throughout your assigned service area and other locations as needed.

Location ND HHS utilizes a blended workplace model. This position will be remote in North Dakota with the ability to travel will be required within your assigned region. (Williston, Minot, Devils Lake, Grand Forks, Fargo, Jamestown, Bismarck, and Dickinson)
