Compensation: Starting range between $75,000 – $85,000 per year plus 15% annual bonus potential. In determining a final offer, the company will evaluate a specific candidate's education, skills, and experience and will make an offer appropriately.

Overview

Responsible for managing the logistics department in depot/cross‑dock with high volume, scope, and complexity for North Dakota and South Dakota. This role is also in charge of the local delivery fleet’s maintenance program and must ensure all logistics delivery associates meet DOT and CMV criteria. CDL a plus. The Depot Manager works out of Fargo, ND and has 3 direct reports who serve as supervisors in ND and SD.

The Depot Manager reports directly to the Logistics Manager for MN/ND/SD.

Primary Responsibilities
  • Ensure depot personnel understand and operate within the organizational, operational, safety, and service policies and procedures
  • Manage and develop a supervisory team responsible for directing transportation activities and managing logistics associates
  • Ensure all logistics delivery associates have required DOT certifications
  • Ensure all accidents are handled and reported according to company policy
  • Manage daily routing schedules and ensure routes are maintained in the routing system
  • Schedule all department personnel time‑off requests; ensure route coverage at all times
  • Coach, train, direct, and counsel logistics supervisors on overall performance
  • Resolve logistics associate discrepancy issues
Additional Primary Responsibilities
  • Maintain logistics associate records and files
  • Maintain company and commercial vehicle registration and plates
  • Ensure pre‑trip and post‑trip DVIR is completed by logistics associate daily
  • Oversee monthly safety training/meetings per SGWS Safety Policy
  • Perform other related duties as assigned
Minimum Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s Degree preferred
  • 5 years of experience or equivalent education and related experience
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite
  • Strong organization, multi‑tasking, and time management skills
  • Valid state motor vehicle operator’s license and ability to obtain and maintain auto‑liability insurance in accordance with state laws
  • Strong knowledge of DOT rules and regulations
Physical Demands
  • Sitting and typing/keyboarding using a computer, or using an adding machine, for a considerable amount of time
  • Walking, bending, reaching, standing, squatting, and stooping for a considerable amount of time
  • Additional hours may be required during October, November, and December and other peak periods
  • Must be able to regularly sit and operate machinery such as a forklift
  • May require working at heights of 8 feet or greater
  • Ability to frequently lift, lower, push, carry, or pull 50 lbs
