This is a part‑time position. The specific days and hours of work will be determined at the time of appointment based on department business needs and applicant availability. This position is anticipated to work 20 hours per week with flexible scheduling between 6:00 am - 4:00 pm.
This position provides technical, clerical and administrative support to the Property Unit Supervisor, Property Department, Canteen Department, and Receiving Warehouse. This includes facilitating, updating, uploading, and coordinating property documents, as well as facility claims investigations.
This position has direct contact with incarcerated individuals inside a Minnesota Correctional Facility.
Minimum Qualifications- Customer service skills sufficient to provide prompt, courteous and accurate information to individuals and staff on the phone, through email and other written correspondence.
- English language skills (reading, writing and speaking) sufficient to read, explain and interpret a variety of documents, policies and procedures, and compose and edit correspondence and reports using proper grammar, punctuation, and spelling.
- Skill in data entry performance sufficient to update Department of Corrections (DOC) specific databases and Microsoft SharePoint.
- Typing/keyboarding skills sufficient to type correspondence, documents and forms into the proper format with speed and accuracy.
- Associate's degree or higher.
- Experience working in a correctional setting.
- Warehouse experience including ordering/receiving, customer service, and inventory duties.

Additional RequirementsThe selection process may include screening the top candidate(s) on their criminal history, predatory offender registration, offender associations and/or other applicable background information in accordance with Department of Corrections’ policy. Top candidate(s) must pass a criminal history check which includes successful completion of all sentencing and/or restitution requirements of law enforcement jurisdictions, including probation. Employment history/reference checks, including incidents of sexual harassment, will also be conducted on the top candidate(s) in accordance with Department of Corrections’ policy.
This may include a review of job performance and discipline records. New employees will be fingerprinted within the first 30 days of employment.
