Direct Care & Treatment (DCT) is seeking an individual to join our Special Care Dentistry – Southern Cities, Faribault Dental Clinic Team as a Dental Hygienist. The clinic provides patient-centered dental care to people with intellectual/developmental disabilities, traumatic brain injuries, and people with severe and persistent mental illness. This position will provide maximum oral hygiene to the patients of the Direct Care & Treatment Dental Clinic.
This is a on-site, part-time role (30 hours/week, Monday-Thursday with Friday–Sunday off) on the Day Shift.
- Perform all services permitted by the state Board of Dentistry so that maximum oral hygiene may be maintained for the patients of State Operated Services Dental Clinics.
- Design and implement a preventive dentistry program, in consultation with the dentist, so that optimal levels of all clients’ oral hygiene can be maintained.
- Ensure that infection control policies and procedures are followed to maintain a safe environment for staff and patients.
- Assist with clinic duties so that patient services and clinic communications and operations run effectively and efficiently.
- Registration with the Minnesota Board of Dentistry as a Dental Hygienist.
- Diversity and cultural responsiveness, with experience working with people from different backgrounds and cultures.
- Experience working with Dentrix and taking digital radiographs.
- Experience with tele dentistry.
- Care for people with special needs; patient-centered and adaptable to patient needs.
- Team player with excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Resume should clearly describe experience in listed areas with beginning and ending month/year for each job.
- Reference checks and criminal background checks will be conducted prior to appointment.
- Education verification: provide high school diploma or college transcripts/degree at time of interview if applicable; degree/diploma must clearly identify field.
- TB testing requirement: DCT facilities require documentation of TB status via blood test (not TB skin testing).
