Full-time, 260-day contract
Position Summary - The Community School Coordinator (CSC) leads the implementation of the Community School strategy at Roosevelt Early Learning Center, aligned with the National Center for Community Schools (NCCS) framework. The CSC builds partnerships among students, families, school staff, and community organizations to support academic success and whole-child development, overseeing integrated student supports, family engagement, and out-of-school time (OST) programming.
Responsibilities- Community School & Out of School Time Coordination
- Plan, implement, and improve the Community School strategies aligned with National Center of Community School key practices.
- Oversee before-school, after-school, evening, summer, and non-school day programming.
- Coordinate the Family Welcome Center/Resource Room and connect families to basic needs through partnerships.
- Integrated Systems of Support
- Collaborate with school teams and community providers to connect students and families to academic, health, mental health, and social services.
- Develop referral and follow-up systems to ensure families receive needed support.
- Family & Community Engagement
- Build strong relationships with families and engage them as partners in student learning.
- Coordinate family events, workshops, and leadership opportunities.
- Serve as a liaison between families, school staff, and community partners.
- Leadership & Partnerships
- Participate in/facilitate Community School leadership teams and school planning.
- Develop and manage partnerships to expand services and enrichment.
- Staff Supervision & Operations
- Recruit, train, supervise, and evaluate program staff and volunteers.
- Coordinate schedules, space, materials, meals, and transportation for Out of School Time programs.
- Ensure compliance with district policies and safety procedures.
- Data, Evaluation & Reporting
- Track participation and outcomes for reporting and program improvement.
- Assist with budgeting and fiscal monitoring for program implementation.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Education, Youth Development, Social Work, Human Services, Community Development, or related field.
- Minimum of two years' experience in education, youth development, or community-based settings.
- Experience developing youth programs and working with families and community partners.
- Strong interpersonal, organizational, and communication skills; ability to work independently and collaboratively.
- Commitment to equity and culturally responsive practices
- Flexibility to work evenings and occasional weekends.
Preferred Qualifications
- Three or more years in a school-based or Community School setting.
- Experience coordinating Out of School Time or expanded learning programs, supervising staff/volunteers, and managing data/grant reporting.
- Bilingual in English and Spanish and/or Somali.
- Familiarity with the Community School model and National Center of Community School key practices.
Salary compliments skills, experience and qualification with a 260-day contract of $64,440 per year.
