HIGH SCHOOL SUMMER Program Teacher or Club Lead Grades 9-12
Job Description:
Create and lead enrichment activities for youth in incoming grades 9-12 according to 21st Century Community Learning Center goals and objectives. Curriculum will be theme-based and incorporate experiential learning opportunities. Summer School Program Teachers are expected to incorporate student voice into their high quality programming, while bringing unique interests and talents to each club.
This position will be available at Faribault High School Falcons Beyond location. Hours are flexible to work 1-5 days per week ranging from 1-7 hours a day. Programming will begin June 15, 2026 and go until July 30, 2026.
Responsibilities- Plan, prepare and deliver instructional activities
- Create a positive educational climate for students to learn
- Participate in ongoing training sessions
- Create lesson plans
- Utilize various curriculum resources
- Utilize curricula that reflect the diverse educational, cultural, and linguistic backgrounds of the students served
- Work with Program Managers/Site Assistants and Coordinator to ensure initiatives are being met
- Establish and communicate clear objectives for all learning activities
- Prepare and distribute required reports
- Observe and evaluate students performance with Continual Learning Plans
- Manage student behavior in the classroom by invoking approved disciplinary procedures
- Participate in meetings as needed
- MN Teacher licensure
- Experience with leading programming, team building, staff collaboration, and effective communication.
- Experience working with children in an out-of-school-time environment.
- Experience with students grades 9-12.
- Must pass a criminal background check.
- Reliable attendance and punctuality.
- Ability to build positive relationships with youth.
- Strong communication and teamwork skills.
- Ability to maintain a safe, welcoming, and inclusive environment.
