The Department of Corrections is hiring an Adult Basic Education Teacher at the Faribault Facility! This role focuses on providing comprehensive educational services to incarcerated adults, including literacy instruction, English Language Learning, high school equivalency programs, and post-secondary preparation. The teacher creates a well-managed learning environment that supports each student's Personal Education Plan through various instructional formats.

** Core Responsibilities*
* + Curriculum and Instruction:
The teacher develops and delivers curriculum aligned with state Adult Basic Education standards using multiple instructional methods-whole class, small group, and individual sessions. Instruction may be delivered in person, via distance learning, or using a hybrid model.

+ Student Support and Accommodation:
This position involves screening students, providing ADA/special education accommodations, and modifying assignments and assessments for learners with disabilities. The teacher monitors attendance, tracks student progress toward diploma completion, and maintains accurate records.

+ Collaboration and Leadership:
The teacher guides resident academic tutors, ensuring quality educational support throughout the facility. This collaborative approach helps maximize learning opportunities and builds a supportive educational community.

This position is located at a correctional facility and has direct contact with students who are incarcerated.

** Minimum Qualifications*

+ Bachelor's degree or higher from an accredited college/university.

AND

+ Possession of or ability to obtain a valid Professional Minnesota teaching license.
