Community Education, Adult Education; part‑time Evening; 5 weeks summer hours

Faribault Public Schools Adult Education is seeking a part‑time Evening GED instructor to work with our amazing adult students at the Faribault Education Center. This position follows the district calendar, including summer hours for 5 weeks in July‑August. The hours for this position are Mondays and Wednesdays 5:30 pm‑8 pm with ½ hour of prep each day (approximately 6 hours per week). Approximately 75 days per calendar year.

The instructor will teach all GED subject areas including Math, Social Studies, Reasoning, Science‑according to set curriculum. Preference is for the instructor to be bilingual in Spanish.

• Align instruction to meet students’ goals and needs
• Use data from NRS assessments (TABE and CASAS), other platform assessments to make focused plans and instruction for students
• Assign study materials to each individual based on their goals and plan
• Use appropriate techniques for individual learning styles
• Build relationships with students and find ways to motivate each individual to reach their full potential
• Keep accurate records and student attendance
• Participate in staff meetings, instructional collaborative time, and professional development
• Manage classroom and open learning labs to facilitate learning and retention of students

• Bachelor’s degree in Education
• Current Minnesota Teaching License (district-sponsored Tier 1 License obtainable)
• Strong computer skills with knowledge of online learning
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to work independently and work well with others
• Ability to assume initiative in problem solving
• Excellent organizational skills
• Ability to manage time and responsibilities
• Demonstrated history of racial equity work and focus on increasing racial awareness

• Fluent in Spanish
• Experience teaching adult diploma subjects, GED, HiSET, and college preparation courses

• Pay rate for licensed teachers is $38.06 per hour
