Educational Assistant Position
Cannon Valley Special Education Cooperative (CVSEC) in Faribault, Minnesota, is looking for compassionate, dedicated, and student-centered individuals to join our team as Educational Assistants. As an Educational Assistant, you'll play a vital role in supporting students and teachers in a variety of educational settings. Responsibilities include assisting students with academic instruction in one-on-one and small-group settings, supporting classroom activities, learning objectives, and individualized education plans (IEPs), encouraging positive behaviors and helping students develop social-emotional skills, monitoring, redirecting, and reinforcing appropriate student behavior, assisting students with daily living skills and personal care needs when required, collaborating with teachers and support staff to create engaging and successful learning experiences, and helping students build confidence, independence, and lifelong skills.
We're especially interested in candidates who bring strong communication skills, flexibility, patience, and a genuine enthusiasm for working with students with diverse learning needs. Candidates must meet Minnesota Highly Qualified requirements through one of the following:
Associate's Degree (AA) completion of 60 post-secondary credits, a passing score on the Para Pro or Para Educator assessment, or equivalent training, coursework, and experience as approved by the Minnesota Department of Education.
