The Human Resources Generalist is responsible for the following HR functional areas: recruitment, onboarding, employee relations, and employee retention. The Human Resources Generalist will support activities to reduce employee turnover and to attract top talent to fill open positions. This role will work closely with all levels of the business, providing exceptional customer service. Position requires a high level of discretion, the ability to protect confidential information, and an appropriate professional manner at all times.
This position is also responsible for food safety procedures to maintain a safe, high-quality product. This position requires on-site work Monday through Friday.

- Administer human resource programs, including but not limited to recruitment, onboarding, compensation, payroll, benefits, leaves, employee relations, and retention.
- Handle employment-related inquiries from applicants, employees, and supervisors, referring complex and/or sensitive matters to the Human Resources Manager.
- Maintain compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations.
- Manage full-cycle recruitment and hiring activities, including workforce planning with hiring managers, candidate sourcing and screening, job postings, applicant tracking systems, temporary staffing partnerships, pre-employment screenings, career fairs, community outreach, candidate communications, and recruitment reporting.
- Manage onboarding, employee referral, engagement, recognition, and retention programs, including new hire follow-up, exit interviews, employee communications, appreciation events, service awards, and other initiatives that promote a positive employee experience.
- Support employee relations activities, including performance management, corrective action, workplace investigations, conflict resolution, disciplinary actions, terminations, and employee issue resolution.
- Assist with benefit administration to include medical, dental, vision, life, STD, LTD, and flexible spending plans.
- Maintain employee records, HRIS data, and compliance documentation; support HRIS enhancements; develop and analyze HR metrics and dashboards; and prepare reports related to recruiting, retention, attendance, and workforce trends.
- Manage employee uniform program and resolve issues.
- Update job descriptions as needed.
- Participate in human resources staff meetings.
- Conduct frequent plant walkthroughs, interacting with employees and leadership.
- Work on HR Projects as needed.
- Maintain knowledge of trends, best practices, regulatory changes, and new technologies in human resources and employment law.
- Support facility safety initiatives and workers' compensation administration in partnership with the EHS Manager.
- Partner with Quality Assurance, executing and supporting all Quality programs that ensure the production of Safe, Quality Foods.
- High school diploma required
- Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field preferred
- SHRM-CP or PHR preferred
- Experience with HRIS and applicant tracking systems preferred
3-5 years of demonstrated human resources support experience in a multi-shift manufacturing environment

- Working knowledge of employment-related regulations
- Bilingual in English/Spanish strongly preferred
