CNC Machine Operator-1st Shift
Trystar seeks a CNC Machine Operator for the Fabrication Department to play a critical role in producing high quality products.
Responsibilities- Machine Setup:
Prepare and set up CNC machines by loading tools, fixtures, and materials. Ensure proper calibration and alignment. - CNC Program Use:
Modify or load CNC programs into the control system, specifying dimensions, shapes, and tolerances. - Material Handling:
Load and secure raw materials onto the machine's worktable, ensuring accurate positioning. - Machining Operations:
Operate CNC machines for milling, turning, drilling, or other processes per program instructions. - Quality Control:
Conduct regular inspections of finished parts with precision instruments (calipers, micrometers, gauges) to verify accuracy. - Tool Maintenance:
Perform routine maintenance on CNC tools and replace worn or damaged cutting tools. - Troubleshooting:
Identify and resolve issues such as tool wear, material irregularities, or machine malfunctions. - Safety Compliance:
Adhere to safety guidelines and protocols while operating CNC machines. - Production Monitoring:
Monitor machining process to maintain workflow and address deviations promptly. - Documentation:
Record production data in Epicor (settings, maintenance, daily reports, tally sheets, scrap reports). - Process Improvement:
Continuously seek opportunities to improve machining processes, reduce cycle times, and enhance efficiency. - Additional duties:
Perform other projects and duties as assigned.
- High school diploma.
- Minimum 2 years experience in CNC machine operation, programming, and setup within a manufacturing environment.
- Experience with manual and CNC machines (manual lathe & mill, CNC mill).
- Ability to interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and work instructions.
- Knowledge of G code and CNC programming basics; editing programs is a plus.
- Proficient with precision measuring instruments and inspection techniques.
- Understanding of materials (Aluminum, steel, stainless steel, copper, fiber board).
- Physical ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds.
- Strong problem‑solving skills and high attention to detail.
- Ability to read, write, and comprehend plant directives in English.
- Technical secondary education.
- Experience with Solid Works and Mastercam.
- Basic mathematics skills for interpreting process sheets and maintaining accurate material usage records.
- Regular standing, bending, and reaching.
- Pass pre‑employment physical and drug test.
- Adherence to PPE requirements (eye, hand, feet, hearing protection).
