The Maintenance Administrative Intern will support the Maintenance Department at our Faribault facility by assisting with improving and standardizing the Planned Maintenance (PM) program. This role will focus on auditing, updating, and enhancing PM checklists, procedures, and documentation to improve equipment reliability, uptime, and overall maintenance effectiveness. This internship provides hands‑on experience in a manufacturing environment and exposure to maintenance systems, continuous improvement initiatives, and cross‑functional collaboration.
Key Responsibilities- Audit and review existing Planned Maintenance (PM) checklists for accuracy and completeness
- Update and standardize PM procedures across equipment and production lines
- Assist in improving maintenance documentation and work order processes
- Partner with maintenance technicians and supervisors to ensure PM effectiveness
- Support continuous improvement initiatives within the Maintenance Department
- Help identify inefficiencies and recommend process improvements
- Currently pursuing a degree in Engineering, Industrial Technology, Manufacturing, Business, or related field
- Strong organizational and attention‑to‑detail skills
- Ability to analyze information and identify opportunities for improvement
- Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word); experience with CMMS systems is a plus
- Strong communication and teamwork skills
- Interest in manufacturing, maintenance, or operations
- Exposure to maintenance concepts, reliability, or lean/continuous improvement
- Experience with data analysis or process documentation
- $20–$24 per hour, based on qualifications and experience
- Practical experience in a food manufacturing environment
- Exposure to maintenance systems and reliability practices
