Trystar’s team members are our most important asset. We are seeking an Assistant Supervisor
- Weekend Materials for our Faribault, MN facility. This role supports our objective to become a leading provider of custom solutions and plays a critical part in achieving strategic goals. Under the direction of the Production Supervisor, the Assistant Supervisor
- Weekend Materials oversees and coordinates the activities of a fabrication team in a manufacturing environment, ensuring efficient, high‑quality fabrication of components and assemblies according to engineering drawings and specifications.
- Lead and coordinate the fabrication team to meet production targets and quality standards; determine weekly schedules in partnership with the area Supervisor and authorize overtime based on business needs.
- Arrange and control daily team activities to maintain smooth workflow, quality production, inventory accuracy, and timely delivery; assign tasks based on skills, workload, and capacity.
- Monitor the fabrication process to ensure compliance with quality, environmental, and safety regulations; conduct regular inspections and implement corrective actions as needed.
- Maintain accurate production data in Epicor and track work progress and issues encountered during fabrication operations.
- Identify training needs and provide coaching to enhance fabrication skills and equipment operation; lead and motivate team development within the Fabrication department.
- Oversee preventive maintenance schedules for machinery and tools; coordinate with maintenance for repairs and downtime tracking.
- Enforce safety protocols, conduct safety meetings, and ensure team members have necessary PPE.
- Evaluate and improve fabrication processes for efficiency, productivity, and cost optimization; ensure standardized work and 5S adherence; drive continuous improvement and waste elimination.
- Maintain records of daily production and machine usage; assist in preparing leadership reports on production efficiency, material usage, and labor utilization.
- Manage internal inventory of materials, tools, and equipment; assist the Supervisor with safety audits and training program implementation.
- Mentor hourly associates and facilitate problem solving within the work area.
- High School Diploma
- 2 years’ experience in a manufacturing environment
- Manufacturing/Production experience in a fast-paced, continuously improving environment
- Ability to lift 50 pounds
- Two years of leadership experience in a manufacturing environment
- Computer literacy including MS Word, Excel, and MRP transactions (Epicor preferred)
- Excellent people skills with experience in supervising, coaching, and training employees
- Strong understanding of sheet metal fabrication equipment (punch presses, brake presses, MIG/TIG welding)
- Ability to collaborate effectively in a cross-functional environment
- Ability to adapt and thrive in a fast-paced, high-growth work environment

- Bi-lingual English/Spanish is a plus
