Material Handler - 1st Shift

Position Summary

Material Handler responsible for controlling the tracking, storage, and issuance of materials to the production lines, supporting shipping/receiving areas, and assisting with work instructions, special projects, and cross‑functional duties.

• Control tracking, storage, and issuance of materials to production and packaging lines.
• Proactively support lines with materials, ensuring proper inventory of production materials and finished goods.
• Monitor and maintain receiving/shipping areas, staging incoming and outgoing products.
• Assist in shipments, receipts, and packaging materials for shipment.
• Maintain FIFO practice and support routine cycle counts and inventory functions.
• Ensure consistent implementation of company‑wide materials programs.
• Audit finished goods for proper packaging, tagging, and required information.
• Use MRP and electronic inventory management system to track product location and materials.
• Understand and use daily and monthly production schedules to assure efficient line set‑up and operation.
• Document and monitor procedures to eliminate variation and promote knowledge sharing.
• Assist in development of work instructions and training team members.
• Initiate and support continuous improvement and waste elimination practices.
• Cross‑train in related functions and assist others in obtaining cross‑functional capabilities.
• Participate in shift change meetings and communicate across shifts.
• Perform all other duties as necessary for the success of the organization.

• Valid Tru Vue Forklift Operation License in good standing.
• Minimum one year forklift experience with a clean driving record.
• Familiarity with electronic inventory management systems and related devices.
• Computer data entry experience and ability to perform electronic transactions accurately.
• Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma preferred.
• Ability to learn and perform all production jobs and follow documented procedures.
• Strong organizational, prioritization, and planning skills to meet production needs.
• Basic computer skills in a Windows environment.
• Bar‑coding experience preferred.
• Flexibility, conscientiousness, quality orientation, and attention to detail.

• High sensitivity to quality and on‑time delivery of materials.
• Respectful of multicultural workplace environments.

Hourly Rate: $19.00 – $21.00
