Material Handler-Faribault North

Starting wage: $25.52 + $2.30 shift differential (2nd shift).

Shift: 2nd Shift – 5:00 PM to 3:30 AM, Monday–Thursday (some overtime required). Weekend Shift – 6:00 AM to 6:00 PM, Friday–Sunday.

Location:

Faribault North.

• Responsible for shipping and receiving purchased or transferred stock and material and finished items
• Unload incoming materials or purchased parts.
• Unpack and examine incoming shipments, reject damaged items, record shortages and correspond with Shipper to rectify damages and shortages
• Read work orders or follow verbal instructions to move items into and out of storage, Kitting area and/or production areas.
• Maintain necessary information and record for inventory locations on the computer and ensure appropriate flow with the materials/goods throughout the process
• Perform cycle counting functions to ensure proper inventory levels
• Select containers for parts or products
• Pack and seal parts, coils or sections into or onto fabricated containers or skids.
• Load materials into/onto trucks and install strapping, bracing or padding to prevent shifting or damage in transit
• Use overhead crane and sheet lifter to load and unload sheet metal to maintain proper inventory in Night train
• Monitor and empty scrap tanks as assigned
• Oversee the incoming materials and kitting process to ensure that purchased part kits are complete and meet production requirements.
• Responsible for receiving and issuing of all material for area.
• Responsible for setup and documentation flow through assigned area
• Perform inventory transactions and cycle counts
• Must exhibit attention to detail with a focus on quality work
• Train new members on the various machines, procedures, safe work practices and any pertinent items regarding safety, quality and production
• Responsible for maintaining the 5s program to ensure a clean work area
• Follow and understand HOMESafe, Personal Choice and company safety manual requirements.
• Identify and rework defective work pieces to comply with quality standards.
• Ability to use hand tools
• Operate PIT (Powered Industrial Trucks), obtain PIT License
• All other duties as assigned

• The ability to lift, push, and/or pull materials, stand for majority of the shift, and work in a fast-paced manufacturing environment while maintaining proper PPE.
• The ability to use hand tools for extended periods of time.
• The ability to read, write and communicate effectively in English.
• High School Education/GED OR Minimum 2 years of related experience in a manufacturing/production environment.
