Key Position Details
  • Allina Health Faribault Medical Center is adding to our CRNA team.
  • Independent practice model.
  • 4‑day work week, regular schedule Monday‑Thursday.
  • Level IV trauma, 4 ORs, ~2000 cases in 2024.
  • Nicely varied case mix:
    General Surgery, Orthopedics, ENT, Ophthalmology, Urology, Podiatry, etc.
  • No heads/hearts/peds.
  • Close‑knit, collegial relationships between surgeons, CRNAs, nurses, techs.
  • Peel‑off system.
  • Call coverage at Owatonna Hospital.
Job Description

Renders a patient insensitive to pain by the administration of anesthetic agents and related drugs and procedures to facilitate diagnostic, therapeutic or surgical procedures. Provides airway management, IV access and monitored anesthesia care services in areas throughout the facility. Responds to requests for pain‑related consultation and services.

Principal Responsibilities
  • Provide anesthesia care.
  • Perform pre‑anesthesia assessment and evaluation, review orders and obtain informed consent.
  • Assure that the patient is positioned in proper alignment and safely secured.
  • Initiate anesthetic technique, which may include general, regional, local or sedation.
  • Manage airway and cardiopulmonary status to maintain satisfactory physiologic condition.
  • Facilitate emergence and recovery from anesthesia by administering medications, fluids and airway support.
  • Discharge patient, providing summary of patient history and surgical events.
  • Provide peri‑anesthetic and clinical support: insert peripheral and arterial catheters, perform arterial punctures, initiate or participate in CPR, collaborate on respiratory and ventilator care.
  • Make decisions leading to desired patient/unit outcomes, establish priorities, act as a resource to peers and other professionals.
  • Assume charge responsibilities as assigned, precept and mentor students and orientees, and help identify improvement processes.
Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree graduate of accredited nursing program and Master's degree graduate of Nurse Anesthetist program.
  • 0 to 2 years working as Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist.
Preferred Qualifications
  • 2 to 5 years working as Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist.
Licenses/Certifications
  • Registered Nurse - MN Board of Nursing required upon hire.
  • Registered Nurse Anesthetist - MN Board of Nursing required upon hire.
  • ACLS/BLS Tier 2-Advanced Cardiac Life Support
    - Multisource required upon hire.
  • PALS
    - Pediatric Advance Life Support
    - Multisource required within 120 days of hire at ANW, required upon hire at all other locations.
Physical Demands
  • Medium work: lifting weight up to 32 lbs occasionally (Allina Safe Patient Moving Policy), up to 25 lbs frequently.
Pay Range

$130.00 to $140.00 per hour (base hourly pay). Starting rate depends on factors including experience, education, and union agreement. Shift, weekend and other differentials may be available.
