Job Summary
Allina Health is a not-for-profit health system that cares for individuals, families and communities throughout Minnesota and western Wisconsin. This position is an RN in the Emergency Department on a permanent night shift, providing high‑quality patient care during 12‑hour rotations with float coverage across assigned units.
Key Position Details- .75 FTE (60 hours per two‑week pay period)
- 12‑hour night shifts
- Every 3rd weekend and holiday rotations
- Provides float coverage across assigned units, offering staffing support and assisting with 1:1 assignments as needed
- Comprehensive assessment of patient and family needs; identification and planning of outcomes; supervising progress and modifying the plan of care as needed.
- Maintains education and competencies to remain proficient in providing high‑quality patient care practice and skills.
- Incorporates evidence‑based nursing practice while considering current statutes, rules, and regulations when developing the plan of care.
- Collaborates with family and patient to establish realistic, measurable, and attainable outcomes based on nursing diagnoses and available resources.
- Identifies age‑appropriate, culturally appropriate, realistic and attainable outcomes.
- Coordinates, collaborates, and delegates appropriately to ensure safe and effective care.
- Fulfills all organizational requirements.
- Other duties as assigned.
- Charge Nurse (when acting in this role):
Demonstrates ability to coordinate, delegate, and direct unit operations, collaborating effectively with unit staff, leadership, and other disciplines. - Preceptor (when acting in this role):
Demonstrates ability to identify the orientee’s learning needs, plan appropriate learning experiences, and validate the orientee’s clinical competence.
- Associate’s or Vocational degree.
- Preferred:
Bachelor’s degree. - Licenses/Certifications:
Licensed Registered Nurse – MN Board of Nursing required if working in MN upon hire; WI Department of Safety & Professional Services required if working in WI upon hire. - Must meet at least ONE of the following:
- Current ACLS certification from the American Heart Association.
- Current ALS certification from the American Red Cross.
- Allina in‑house ACLS training (within 60 days of hire).
- Trauma Nursing Core Course (TNCC) – Multisource required within 1 year.
- Additional certifications that may be required at certain sites:
- Pediatric Advance Life Support (PALS) is required within 180 days of hire.
- Other certifications may be required within 1 year of hire.
Medium work level: lifting weight up to 32 lbs. occasionally (Allina Safe Patient Moving Policy) and up to 25 lbs. frequently.
PayHourly pay range: $40.68 to $61.63 per hour. The base hourly pay range may be adjusted based on experience, education, union agreement, and available shift or work differentials.
