We are seeking a skilled Vehicle Technician / Car Mechanic to join our independent workshop team in Faringdon. Moving away from rigid corporate targets, we offer a £36,000–£40,000 basic salary, permanent Monday-to-Friday hours (08:00–17:30, no weekends), and an environment built on genuine technical autonomy and team support.

Our workshop is equipped with modern diagnostic systems and specialized tooling, offering an organized, staff-focused atmosphere where mechanics have the support and resources to perform clean, accurate work.
Your RoleAs a vital Vehicle Technician / Car Mechanic in our Faringdon workshop, you will:
- Perform scheduled servicing
, routine maintenance, and safety inspections across various vehicle makes and models. - Execute mechanical repairs
, component replacements, and major work on suspension, steering, and braking systems. - Apply diagnostic tools to identify, isolate, and repair electrical and mechanical faults cleanly.
- Maintain precise job records and keep work areas clean, organized, and compliant with safety guidelines.
- Qualifications &
Experience:
NVQ Level 2 or Level 3 (or equivalent) in Motor Vehicle Maintenance & Repair with a solid background in fault-finding and mechanical repair. F-Gas certification is preferred. - Licensing: A full UK driving licence is essential.
An active MOT Tester licence is preferred but not required. - Equipment: Must possess your own hand tools for daily workshop repair tasks.
