About the ProgramSouth College is inviting applications for the position of Adjunct Faculty Member for the Medical Assisting program at the Dallas campus. This role involves teaching in-person courses on campus as well as online courses. The ideal candidate will be innovative and utilize diverse instructional methods to effectively engage students with different learning styles.

- Effectively conducts lectures, laboratory sessions, and clinical courses as required.
- Assists in implementing South College policies, objectives, and functions in accordance with South College’s philosophy.
- Keeps students informed of their progress by promptly grading assignments, projects, skill assessments, competency evaluations/mastery of competencies in the clinical lab, and other tasks.
- Facilitates student connections with relevant campus and community resources.
- Aids in registration, recruitment, and retention efforts, ensuring thorough management of all required tasks.
- Supports the program director with accreditation-related tasks such as accreditation reports, self-studies, and site visits when requested.
Education: A minimum requirement includes holding a satisfactory bachelor’s degree in the relevant discipline and possessing a certified license in Medical Assisting.
- Understanding of educational theory and techniques.
- Prior experience instructing in any medical assisting program and/or working as a medical assistant.
- Demonstrated proficiency in utilizing technology for instructional purposes.
- Outstanding written and verbal communication abilities.
- Dedication to fostering student achievement and fostering an inclusive learning atmosphere.
- Candidates should have either foundational or advanced knowledge in anatomy and physiology, medical terminology, medical assisting/nursing, phlebotomy skills, pharmacology, diseases of the body, office administration, and medical law and ethics.
- Experience in LMS (Canvas, Blackboard, D2L, etc.).
Preference will be given to those with a proven record of excellence in teaching at the post-secondary or higher education level.
