Quality Engineer Expert – QE Platform & Enablement  Role Summary  The Director level Quality Engineering Expert for Platform & Enablement owns the shared quality foundations that enable scale, consistency, and predictable delivery across all C&IB domains. This role is accountable for eliminating systemic delivery constraints by centralizing ownership of test environments, test data capabilities, automation platforms, and governance.
The role primarily leads senior individual contributors, including QE Architects and Principal Quality Engineers, and ensures their expertise is leveraged effectively across domains rather than duplicated within them.

Senior ICs (QE Architects, Principal Quality Engineers) and small enablement pods.  
• Scope:
Horizontal enablement supporting Payments, Commercial Lending, Digital, and Capital Markets    
• Key partners:
Engineering Leaders, Architecture, Platform Engineering, Dev Ops/SRE, Infrastructure, Data Platforms, Security, Risk & Control  Operating Context Across C&IB, delivery teams encounter recurring, non domain specific challenges that directly impact delivery predictability and risk:  
• Preprod environment instability and shared resource contention  
• Slow or manual test data provisioning  
• Fragmented automation frameworks and inconsistent tooling  
• Inconsistent quality metrics and limited actionable signals    Scope (What This Role Owns)  Test Environment Management  Test Data Capabilities  Automation Platforms & Standards  Quality Governance, Metrics & Execution Discipline  Applied Quality Engineering Innovation    Key Accountabilities  
• Direct senior ICs to design and deliver scalable, reusable QE platforms and standards  
• Remove systemic delivery constraints impacting multiple domains  
• Drive platform led, applied innovation that improves quality outcomes and reduces execution risk  
• Ensure innovation initiatives transition into run state capabilities with ownership, adoption, and metrics  
• Use execution data and quality signals to identify risk hot spots and prioritize enablement investments  
• Own vendor/tooling strategy and financial stewardship for horizontal QE capabilities    Responsibilities  
• Build and execute a multi quarter enablement roadmap with clear milestones and measurable outcomes  
• Guide QE Architects and Principal Engineers in defining patterns, standards, and reference implementations  
• Establish intake and prioritization models balancing domain demand with enablement capacity  
• Partner with platform, infrastructure, and data teams to deliver committed improvements  
• Drive adoption of platforms and standards through enablement, coaching, and influence—not mandate  
• Provide executive level visibility into constraints removed, innovation scaled, and delivery readiness impact  Success Measures

• 15+ years in Quality Engineering / Software Engineering  
• 8–10+ years leading senior engineers, architects, or enterprise scale enablement teams
