Schedule:
Part-Time with open availability and weekends (Freight handling a plus), 3 to 4 days per week.
We are looking for a Part-time Retail Sales Associate who enjoys growing potential and reaping the rewards of joining the CHEF’STORE family. The Retail Sales Associate helps maintain an atmosphere of superior customer service and promotes the US FOODS strategy:

- Front End: Ensure all customers have an impeccable CHEF’STORE experience by developing and maximizing relationships with the store’s customers.
- Utilize all tools and skills learned in the CHEF’STORE Way training and model the behavior in the store.
- Perform sales and cash functions in the POS efficiently and accurately, including scanning merchandise, weighing products, and looking up items that do not scan.
- Ensure that each item’s barcode is accurately reflected in the system and report discrepancies to the Front End Lead or Manager of the Day (MOD).
- Perform cart-to-cart transfer of all products at checkout, including a visual inspection for product tampering.
- Perform duties as receipt checker; verify cart contents vs purchases, and perform opening/closing duties at the front end based on shift assignment.
- Sales Floor and Stocking: Increase sales and manage shrinkage. Help customers find products and inform them of other store services.
- Assist in receiving inventory shipments and stock shelves in a neat, orderly fashion with proper rotation and quality audits. Report low stock levels to management.
- Label merchandise, apply catch weights, and affix plu tags to produce items.
- Replenish the sales floor daily by down-stocking freight from top stock, use FIFO, and stock as needed.
- Operate reach trucks and pallet jacks as required.
- Use computer programs such as Microsoft Word and Excel and any proprietary software as needed.
- Ensure products are accessible, visually appealing, and readily available.
- Assist with price changes as directed by the Pricing Lead and Store Management. Participate in opening/closing duties and inventory/cycle counts as needed.
- Customer Courtesy: Maintain a safe and clean store environment by following safety policies and practices. Notify management of any safety issues and correct if possible. Ensure cleanliness of the sales floor, front end, restrooms, parking lot, and entry areas. Retrieve and return carts from parking lots and corrals. May be assigned additional duties by Store Management.

- Retail store setting open to the public, with exposure to outside weather conditions.
- Moderate noise level and activity; may require climbing or working on an elevated surface as needed.
- Store temperature ranges from
-10 to 85 degrees. Must be able to interact with customers physically.
- Minimum 6-12 months of retail cashier and/or stocking experience required.
- Minimum one year of retail selling and/or customer service experience preferred.

- Basic computer skills, cash handling experience, and proficiency with general office equipment.
- High School Diploma or equivalent work experience required.

This role will receive overtime compensation. Benefits may include health insurance, pre-tax spending accounts, retirement benefits, paid time off, disability coverage, employee stock purchase plan, and life insurance. Compensation depends on experience, education, skills, location, and legal requirements. The expected base rate is between $13 - $21 per hour.
