Software Engineering Group Manager in PNC’s Lending Technology organization. Based in Dallas, TX or Pittsburgh, PA. PNC does not sponsor employment visas or engage in STEM OPT for this role.

The manager will oversee 2–3 managers or senior managers responsible for the development and support of the Lending Originations Platform and will interface with business leaders as a liaison between partners and technology.

Additional responsibilities include vendor management, performance metrics, annual budgeting, and more.

Experience managing managers, technical and business-oriented leadership, experience with Lending Operations and background in tech and business operations. Card background experience is a plus.

• Strong proficiency in Java, Spring Boot, Hibernate, REST, and microservices.
• Solid understanding of software architecture, microservices, and event‑driven design patterns.
• Experience designing and developing solutions using core Java, SQL (MySQL), Active
  
  MQ, Kafka.
• Hands‑on expertise in authentication & authorization systems, API frameworks (REST, Graph
  
  QL), and persistence stores.
• Proficiency in database design and optimization for relational and No
  
  SQL databases.
• Manages multiple development projects, groups, and application support functions for a major business segment.
• Oversees the development and implementation of multiple complex organization‑wide systems.
• Allocates and ensures resource arrangements during the application development life cycle.
• Provides solutions or recommendations on complicated technology issues for application development and implementation.

• Experience with Elastic‑Search and Redis.
• Strong knowledge of performance tuning, application security, and scalability best practices.
• Experience with modern software development methodologies (SAFe preferred).
• Familiarity with front‑end frameworks like React.
• Experience with Dev Ops practices, CI/CD pipelines, and containerization (Open Shift, Kubernetes).
• Experience with CI/CD tools and platforms (Bitbucket, Jenkins, etc.).
• Experience using Intelli
  
  J, Gradle, and writing JUnit test cases.

• Manages multiple development projects, development groups and/or application support functions for a major business segment.

• University/college degree;
  Master’s or PhD preferred.
• 8+ years of industry‑relevant experience; at least 5 years of prior management experience.
• Proven leadership experience with moderate to large scope of responsibility.
• Comparable combination of education, certifications, and experience, including military service, may be considered.
