Essential Duties and Responsibilities Prepare accurate and timely monthly financial statements and reports for a portfolio of multifamily properties.
Perform general ledger account reconciliations and analysis to ensure accuracy and completeness of financial data.
Assist with the preparation of annual operating budgets and forecasts for assigned properties.
Conduct variance analysis and provide clear explanations for significant fluctuations between actual and budgeted results.
Review, code, and process invoices in accordance with accounts payable procedures.
Ensure compliance with applicable management agreements, internal controls, and company accounting policies.
Maintain and review resident ledgers, rent rolls, and supporting documentation to ensure accuracy of financial records.
Support utility, expense, and resident billing processes as applicable to multifamily operations.
Prepare year-end work papers and assist with audit and tax preparation processes.
Assist with property acquisitions and dispositions, including financial onboarding and offboarding activities.
Collaborate with property management, operations, and accounting teams to resolve discrepancies and support property performance.
Complete special projects and other duties as assigned by Accounting Manager, Controller, or Chief Financial Officer.
Required Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field preferred.
Minimum of two (2) years of multifamily or real estate accounting experience preferred.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office, with strong emphasis on Excel.
Experience with Yardi or similar property management/accounting software preferred.
Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and collaboratively within a team.
Effective written and verbal communication skills.
