Location: Michigan – Primarily Remote

Work Arrangement: Remote from home with occasional onsite meetings as needed (expected to be only a small number of days per year)

Contract Duration: Through December 2027

Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Project Scheduler / Project Controls Scheduler to support project planning, scheduling, progress tracking, and reporting activities. The ideal candidate will have strong hands‑on experience with Primavera P6
, Microsoft Excel, project scheduling, critical path analysis, and coordination with project teams, contractors, and stakeholders.

This position will primarily be remote for a candidate residing in Michigan, with occasional onsite meetings as required.

Key Responsibilities
  • Organize, implement, and maintain project scheduling management systems supporting identified projects and project plans.
  • Set up project tasks and subtasks to ensure project and contract requirements are achieved according to schedule.
  • Develop, maintain, and update project schedules using Primavera P6
    .
  • Maintain the P6 database, including task status, timelines, activity information, and schedule updates.
  • Enter new project information into P6 and prepare scheduled reports for project coordination and management reporting.
  • Develop detailed project schedules in coordination with project teams, contractors, superintendents, field engineers, and project managers.
  • Define and update project scope, activities, durations, dependencies, and milestones.
  • Monitor schedule progress and performance and identify potential delays, variances, and developing problem areas.
  • Analyze the critical path, constraints, and schedule impacts resulting from project changes.
  • Recommend alternative work paths and recovery strategies for projects experiencing schedule delays.
  • Develop and maintain weekly schedules in collaboration with field and project management teams.
  • Support project management teams in maintaining effective change management processes, procedures, and systems.
  • Assist with periodic project status reports to keep management informed of project progress and schedule performance.
  • Conduct schedule analysis to determine alternative courses of action and recovery plans for slipped schedules.
  • Collaborate with project team members, contractors, cost engineers, stakeholders, and management to obtain and communicate accurate schedule information.
  • Participate actively in project and department meetings and provide scheduling updates and recommendations.
Required Qualifications & Skills
  • Hands‑on experience working in a Primavera P6 environment
    .
  • Strong understanding of P6 functionality, including:
  • Activity codes
  • Resources
  • Group & Sort
  • Schedule reporting
  • Strong proficiency with Microsoft Excel
    .
  • Ability to develop, maintain, analyze, and update detailed project schedules.
  • Experience analyzing critical path, constraints, schedule variances, and project impacts.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to work effectively with project teams, contractors, and stakeholders.
  • Ability to participate effectively in project meetings and communicate scheduling information clearly.
  • Strong organizational, analytical, and problem‑solving skills.
Preferred Qualifications
  • PMP or other PMI certification preferred but not required.
  • PSP, CST, or other AACE International certification preferred but not required.
  • Knowledge of Schedule Quality practices and quality checks for P6 schedules.
  • Understanding of project gating procedures
    .
  • Previous experience supporting Renewable Energy or Clean Energy projects is a plus.
  • Experience working with project controls, cost engineering, or construction project teams is beneficial.
