SEWS — Farmington Hills, Michigan Office. Although located at SEWS– Farmington Hills Office, this is a Hybrid position, which combines both in office and off-site work. Associates are required to work at least three days in the office each week, but also have the flexibility to work off-site.
BasicPurpose:
Development of Wiring Harness components (protectors, grommets, holders, etc.) using 3D CAD systems (CATIA V5), releasing 2D drawings of components for quotation and for tooling kick-offs, and adjusting the designs until part/project completion. Requires working with the Wiring Harness engineers of each customer division (primarily Ford, Stellantis, and Toyota), internal Procurement, Validation, QA departments, and external suppliers.
Job Duties and Responsibilities:- BS Degree in Mechanical Engineering or similar
- 6+ years experience with 3D CAD systems (CATIA V5) is required and/or the development of injection-molded parts is preferred; should be able to perform other engineering functions in addition to 3D CAD design.
- Bilingual (English/Japanese) capability is helpful for liaison work with Japanese parent company.
- Must be willing to travel for trial events and supplier audits.
- Some projects need regular communication with overseas contracts and it must be done during non-standard work hours.
