The RoleThe Local Network Director is a regional leadership role reporting to the AVP OF ENGINEERING & CONSTRUCTION, responsible for engineering execution across Washington, Oregon, Idaho, Arizona, and Nevada. This position leads regional network engineering efforts, partnering closely with construction, municipalities, and vendors to deliver high-quality fiber infrastructure. The role offers high autonomy in shaping processes, partnerships, and execution strategy while ensuring alignment with company standards and goals.
This is a remote role requiring residence in one of the five supported states, with approximately 50% travel expected initially to establish relationships and align teams.
Main Responsibilities Regional Engineering Leadership- Serve as the Engineering Director for a five-state region (WA, OR, , AZ, NV), overseeing network design and engineering execution.
- Lead and develop a team of approximately 20 engineering professionals, fostering accountability, performance, and growth.
- Provide direction on fiber network design and ensure high-quality handoffs to construction teams.
- Ensure designs meet required standards and are fully aligned with construction execution needs.
- Drive quality, consistency, and efficiency in engineering outputs across the region.
- Maintain accountability for vendor performance, ensuring adherence to SLAs and delivery expectations.
- Build and manage relationships with municipalities, contractors, and external partners to support smooth project execution.
- Collaborate with internal peers, including the Construction Director, to ensure alignment across engineering and build phases.
- Balance relationship management with strong enforcement of agreements, timelines, and performance expectations.
- Operate with a high degree of autonomy to shape regional engineering practices, workflows, and team structure.
- Drive innovative approaches to fiber construction and deployment, improving speed, cost efficiency, and scalability.
- Travel regularly within the region (~50% initially) to engage with teams, assess progress, and strengthen partnerships.

Required Qualifications- 2+ years' experience in field operations, enablement, construction coordination, telecom/OSP, network deployment support, or similar field-facing program roles.
- Demonstrated ability to manage relationships with external stakeholders (HOAs, municipalities, developers, and property managers).
- Experience conducting site surveys / field verification and producing structured documentation for technical teams.
- Strong cross-functional communication and ability to translate field observations into clear, actionable updates for internal teams.
- Comfort working independently in the field with high ownership and accountability.
$155k - $215k / annually
This information reflects the anticipated base salary range for this position based on current national data. Minimums and maximums may vary based on location. Individual pay is based on skills, experience, and other relevant factors.
