Hyundai America Technical Center, Inc. (HATCI) is seeking a Hybrid Powertrain Fuel Economy Calibration Engineer for the Vehicle Energy Efficiency (VEE) Team. VEE Engineers are responsible for fuel economy calibration of HMG vehicles, on-road and on dyno testing, simulation, data analysis, benchmarking, identifying industry trends, and developing strategies for improving vehicle energy efficiency for hybrid and gas-engine vehicles.

• Establishandsupporttargetsforvehicleenergyefficiency(MPG,MPGe,CO2,&AER) throughtestingandanalysisofcurrentandfuturevehicles
• Benchmarkkeycompetitivevehiclesandrelatedpropulsionsystemtechnologies
• Analyzecompetitivedatasetsandassessfuturetrendsinpassengervehiclefueleconomyandenergyefficiency-related technologies
• Collaboratewithlabpersonnel,calibrators,andautomationengineerstoensuretestreadiness,resolve issues,andmaintaintestingcontinuity.
• Design,execute,andimprovefueleconomytestplansandprocedures
• Simulatevehicleenergyflows,losses,androadloadsfordetailedpresentations
• CollaboratewithandsupporttheglobalR&Dheadquartersteamin South Korea
• Supportextended/weekendtestingandtravelupto
  25% domesticandinternationally.
• Calibrationexperienceanddetailedunderstandingofvehiclepropulsionsystems,includinginternalcombustionengine,hybrid,and/orplug-inhybridvehicles
• FamiliaritywithEPAcorporateaveragefueleconomy,greenhousegasemissionsstandards,and Monroneylabelcalculationsforpassengercarsandlighttrucks
• Provenunderstandingofconventionalandhybridenergyflows,suchasdriveenergy,energylosses(i.e.,friction,aerodynamics,etc.),thermalloads,andenergyconversionefficiency.

Basic Qualifications:

• Bachelor'sdegreeinmechanical,electrical,orrelatedengineeringfieldfromanaccrediteduniversity
• 1+yearsofexperiencewiththeseresponsibilitiesandcapabilities
• Working-levelknowledgeofvehicletestingtools,suchasETASINCA(or equivalent),andCANbusmonitoringapplications,suchas
  
  VectorCANalyzer(or equivalent)
• Working-levelknowledgeofMATLABfordataanalysisandgraphing
• Demonstratedabilitytocommunicateeffectivelywithpeers,management,andexecutivestaff
• Valid Driver’sLicenseandasatisfactorydrivingrecord
• Abletoworkinaculturallydiverseteamenvironment
• Abletoworkinharshclimateconditions(i.e.,winter:
