Transmission Planning Engineer - Michigan (Hybrid)
Evergreen is recruiting for a client in Michigan, a major energy company, for an experienced Transmission Planning Engineer. This is a senior role for someone who can lead complex planning studies with minimal oversight, make independent technical calls, and guide new approaches on tough problems.
You’ll work closely with internal teams, vendors, and regulators, set and review testing procedures, oversee significant projects end to end, and help bring new technology into the fold. There’s also a mentoring piece, acting as a go-to resource for junior engineers. Hybrid schedule, must be commutable to the site, and part of the team’s emergency response during storms or major service disruptions.
This role requires a Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or Engineering Technology and at least 5 years of relevant experience in electrical engineering within transmission, power and / or utilities operations, as well as experience with:
- PROMOD
- PSCAD
- Power World
- PSS/E
- Load flow, stability, and contingency analysis
- NERC/FERC and ISO/RTO markets knowledge
