Working with our Transportation Department
, you will support and lead traffic engineering projects, including traffic studies, modeling, forecasting, signal operations, maintenance of traffic plans, and client coordination.
What You’ll Do
- Prepare traffic impact studies, safety studies, signal optimization analyses, and traffic forecasts.
- Perform intersection and roadway traffic modeling.
- Conduct roundabout analysis and geometric evaluations.
- Develop maintenance of traffic plans using traffic data.
- Write reports and support traffic signal design and operations.
- Interact with clients, including MDOT, local agencies, consulting partners, and contractors.
- Assist with project budgets, schedules, and technical proposals.
- Manage tasks, mentor staff, and collaborate with transportation professionals across Fishbeck offices.
- Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering.
- 2+ years of traffic engineering experience.
- Experience with the ITE Trip Generation Manual and traffic studies.
- Preferred knowledge of MDOT traffic standards and guidelines.
- Experience with Highway Capacity Software, Synchro, Vissim, Rodel, and Micro Station software.
- Excellent computer, planning, verbal communication, and collaboration skills.
