We are partnering with an established global manufacturing organization in the Farmington Hills area that is adding an Engineering Coordinator to its engineering team.
This is a hands-on opportunity for someone with a manufacturing engineering, CAD/design, or technical background who enjoys working directly with engineering and production. The Engineering Coordinator will support manufacturing projects, drawings and documentation while helping improve processes, tooling, equipment and production performance.
What You'll Do- Create, update and maintain engineering drawings and technical documentation
- Support CAD drawings for manufacturing processes, tooling, equipment and layouts
- Conduct time studies and help identify opportunities to improve cycle times and production efficiency
- Troubleshoot tooling and manufacturing process issues alongside engineering and production teams
- Support projects involving production lines, equipment upgrades, layouts and new equipment
- Assist with process flows, PFMEAs, control plans and other manufacturing documentation
- Participate in new product and manufacturing launch activities
- Maintain accurate engineering drawings, specifications and revision documentation
- Support corrective actions related to cost, quality and delivery
- Coordinate with engineers, technicians, suppliers and other manufacturing personnel
- Help develop and maintain shop-floor work instructions and process documentation
- Degree, diploma, or technical education in Mechanical, Manufacturing, Industrial, Mechatronics Engineering or a related discipline; equivalent relevant experience will also be considered
- 2+ years of experience in a manufacturing, machining, engineering or technical environment
- Experience with AutoCAD, Solid Works or similar CAD/3D modeling software
- Ability to read blueprints, engineering drawings and GD&T
- Understanding of manufacturing and/or machining processes
- Experience supporting tooling, equipment, layouts or manufacturing processes
- Familiarity with PFMEA, control plans and APQP is a plus
- Strong analytical, problem-solving and organizational skills
- Ability to coordinate effectively with engineers, technicians, suppliers and production teams
