Position: Radiographer (Radiologic Technologist)

Hours Per Week: 40.00
Hours Per Day: 8.00
Days Per Week: 5.00
Shift Time: Day Shift MONDAY- FRIDAY 8:00am - 5:00 pm

Job Summary

Under the direction of a Radiologist, the Radiologic Technologist performs diagnostic radiologic procedures for the evaluation of pathological conditions as ordered by a physician. The technologist utilizes independent judgment in positioning, technique selection, radiation safety, and patient care while adhering to departmental protocols and regulatory standards.

Responsibilities
  • Explain examination procedures and prepare patients for imaging studies.
  • Review physician orders and clinical data to determine appropriate radiographic procedures.
  • Position patients correctly and operate radiographic equipment to obtain high-quality diagnostic images.
  • Administer intravenous contrast media when indicated and monitor patients for adverse reactions.
  • Apply radiation protection principles and ALARA techniques to minimize exposure.
  • Maintain sterile technique and adhere to infection control protocols.
  • Complete all required documentation in PACS and RIS systems, including study indexing and image verification.
  • Ensure accurate and timely documentation for clinical and billing purposes.
  • Maintain imaging equipment and ensure adequate supply levels.
  • Participate in teaching and mentoring of new staff and students when required.
Requirements
  • Minimum one (1) year of experience as a Radiologic Technologist.
  • Ability to work in various hospital settings including IPD, OR, ER, and mobile units.
  • Adherence to radiation safety, infection control, and hospital customer service standards.
  • Must maintain required continuing education hours.
Education
  • High School Diploma or G.E.D. equivalent.
  • Completion of an accredited Radiologic Technology program.
Certifications
  • ARRT-R (American Registry of Radiologic Technologists Radiography).
  • BLS (Healthcare Provider/BCLS).
