Location: 30055 Northwestern Highway, Farmington Hills, MI 48334
Under the direction of a Radiologist, the Radiologic Technologist performs diagnostic radiologic procedures for the evaluation of pathological conditions as ordered by a physician. The technologist utilizes independent judgment in positioning, technique selection, radiation safety, and patient care while adhering to departmental protocols and regulatory standards.
Responsibilities- Explain examination procedures and prepare patients for imaging studies.
- Review physician orders and clinical data to determine appropriate radiographic procedures.
- Position patients correctly and operate radiographic equipment to obtain high-quality diagnostic images.
- Administer intravenous contrast media when indicated and monitor patients for adverse reactions.
- Apply radiation protection principles and ALARA techniques to minimize exposure.
- Maintain sterile technique and adhere to infection control protocols.
- Complete all required documentation in PACS and RIS systems, including study indexing and image verification.
- Ensure accurate and timely documentation for clinical and billing purposes.
- Maintain imaging equipment and ensure adequate supply levels.
- Participate in teaching and mentoring of new staff and students when required.
- Minimum one (1) year of experience as a Radiologic Technologist.
- Ability to work in various hospital settings including IPD, OR, ER, and mobile units.
- Adherence to radiation safety, infection control, and hospital customer service standards.
- Must maintain required continuing education hours.
- High School Diploma or G.E.D. equivalent.
- Completion of an accredited Radiologic Technology program.
- ARRT-R (American Registry of Radiologic Technologists Radiography).
- BLS (Healthcare Provider/BCLS).
