Systems Software Developer, Farmington Hills, MI

V I Engineering, Inc. seeks a Systems Software Developer to lead test and integration initiatives.

• Work under the guidance of the Functional Manager, an Architect and/or Senior Engineer to research, design, develop, and test operating systems-level software, compilers, and network distribution software for medical, industrial, military, consumer electronics and automotive industries
• Apply V I Engineering Process Models and all associated VIE practices & policies to set operational specifications and formulate and analyze software requirements
• Apply technical expertise in National Instruments’ hardware and software products to create, debug and release quality application code, following Engineering Process Model and LabVIEW Developer’s standards
• Use LabVIEW, Test Stand, Veri Stand and test & measurement in general, including maintaining a Developer certification from National Instruments in at least one of these programming platforms
• Write high quality user and system documentation

Education:

Masters degree or foreign equivalent in Computer Information Systems.

Experience:

2 years of work experience in a position involving Systems Integration for Automated Test Equipment.

• Education or work experience must have included Electrical Engineering coursework or experience
• The required 2 years of work experience must include each of the following:
  • System integration of software and hardware for Industrial Automation Systems, Automated and Bench Test Systems
  • Test requirements generation
  • Developing software documentation packages
  • Executing verification and validation for projects
  • 6 months of experience in each of the following platforms:
    LabVIEW, Test Stand and Veri Stand
  • National Instruments certification in either LabVIEW, Test Stand or Veri Stand
  • Experience with FPGA (with LabVIEW)
