We are seeking an experienced and dynamic Senior Engineer to work independently hands‑on developing an advanced automotive System on Chip (SoC) software platform for AD/ADAS and/or Central Compute ECU. This platform will use hypervisor technology and support guest operating systems such as Black Berry QNX, Adaptive AUTOSAR, and various Linux distributions.
Responsibilities- Integrate and support standard automotive sensors, focusing on AD/ADAS (cameras, radar, lidar, sonar, inertia sensing).
- Manage the development of image‑processing capabilities within the platform.
- Implement system partitioning, hypervisors, and container engine technology to enhance platform flexibility and security.
- Collaborate with hardware engineers, product engineers, and other stakeholders to meet performance, safety, and regulatory standards.
- Assess risks and uncertainties associated with software development initiatives, proactively identifying roadblocks and developing mitigation strategies.
- Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and industry standards.
- Strong analytical skills and ability to translate complex data into actionable insights.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills with the ability to influence stakeholders at all organizational levels.
- Depth of knowledge in SDV Enablers, Zonal Network, high‑performance central compute modules, automated driving, AI, machine learning, perception modules, connected mobility, MLOps, and OTA updates.
- Strong experience in C/C++ development for automotive embedded systems and the ability to develop automotive SoC software platforms.
- Experience with POSIX OS, QNX, board support packages, middleware, hypervisors, container engines, and AD/ADAS technology stacks.
- Proficient in AD/ADAS sensor bring‑up, integration, and debugging on automotive platforms.
- Good understanding of image processing, image transfer, video input and video output handling in SoC platform software development.
- Experience with major SoC vendors (Qualcomm SA8650, Renesas RCAR, Nvidia Orin and Thor).
- Knowledge of SoC hardware interfaces (Ethernet, USB, UFS, Display Port, PCIe, UART, SPI, I2C, inter‑core communication, camera, CPU Kryo, ARM Cortex‑R52, Hexagon Tensor Processor, SDRAM, Flash ROM, MMU).
- Strong understanding of Classic and Adaptive AUTOSAR software architecture and experience with Continuous Integration/Continuous Delivery.
- Strong grasp of CPU/GPU architectures, data structures, OS internals, multithreading, inter‑process communication, memory‑management techniques.
- Nice to have: NVIDIA Drive OS experience, hypervisor virtual platforms V‑Model, ASPICE, MISRA, ISO
26262, cybersecurity, and Agile framework. - Ability to read schematics, electrical block diagrams, and IC datasheets.
Education and Experience
- Bachelor or Master’s degree in Computer Science or Electrical Engineering.
- Minimum 7+ years of experience, with at least 4 years of AD/ADAS sensor development experience and 3+ years in automotive or other embedded‑system low‑level domains.
Must sit or stand for long periods. Must be able to lift or move up to 25 pounds. Mandatory domestic and international travel may be required.
