Description

Our client in Farmington, CT, is seeking a diligent Staff Accountant to join their team. This is an excellent opportunity for those passionate about financial accuracy and compliance. The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing financial records, supporting the month-end close, and ensuring timely, compliant tax return filings.

Key Responsibilities:

+ Maintain accurate general ledger and supporting financial records.

+ Prepare journal entries, account reconciliations, and assist with monthly/quarterly closings.

+ Collaborate with internal teams to prepare, review, and file tax returns and related documentation.

+ Ensure strict compliance with accounting principles, company policies, and tax regulations.

+ Aid in preparing financial statements and reports for management review.

+ Support audit processes and respond to auditor requests.

+ Identify and recommend process improvements.

Requirements - Minimum of 3 years of experience in accounting or a related field.

- Strong knowledge of corporate tax practices and regulations.

- Proficiency in managing sales tax filings and compliance.

- Experience with preparing and reviewing journal entries.

- Familiarity with maintaining and reconciling general ledger accounts.

- Ability to analyze financial data and identify discrepancies.

- Excellent organizational and communication skills.

- Proficiency in accounting software and tools.
