Otis is the world's leading manufacturer, installer, and servicer of elevators, escalators, and moving walkways. We are seeking a motivated and curious Project Management Intern to join our Global Program Management Office. This internship is designed for students interested in exploring careers in project management, program management, engineering leadership, product development, or business operations. Working alongside experienced Program Managers, you will gain hands‑on exposure to how complex, cross‑functional product development programs are planned, executed, monitored, and delivered.
As an intern, you will contribute to real business initiatives while learning the fundamentals of project management, including planning, scheduling, risk management, stakeholder communication, governance, status reporting, and cross‑functional collaboration. You will partner with Engineering, Product Management, Supply Chain, Manufacturing, Digital Technology, and Field Operations teams to help drive successful program outcomes.

- Support Project Planning
- Assist in developing project schedules, milestone plans, and deliverables.
- Help document project objectives, scope, assumptions, and stakeholder requirements.
- Participate in planning sessions and project reviews.
- Assist with Program Execution
- Support Program Managers in tracking project milestones, action items, and commitments.
- Help maintain project plans, dashboards, and status reports.
- Monitor project progress and identify potential schedule or resource concerns.
- Facilitate Team Coordination
- Participate in cross‑functional team meetings.
- Document decisions, action items, and follow‑up activities.
- Help ensure alignment across engineering and other cross‑functional stakeholders.
- Support Risk and Issue Management
- Assist in identifying project risks, issues, and dependencies.
- Help maintain risk registers and mitigation plans.
- Track resolution activities and escalation actions.
- Contribute to PMO Improvement Initiatives
- Support development of project management templates, tools, and standard work.
- Participate in process improvement activities.
- Explore opportunities to leverage AI and digital tools to improve project execution and team productivity.
- Prepare Communications and Reporting
- Assist with project status reports, presentations, and executive updates.
- Create visual summaries of project information and key metrics.
- Communicate project information clearly to diverse stakeholder groups.
Currently pursuing a bachelor's degree in:
Engineering, Business, Project Management, Operations Management, Industrial Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Strong analytical and problem‑solving abilities.
- Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a team environment.
- Experience with Microsoft Office applications, including Excel, PowerPoint, Word, and Teams.
- Rising Junior or Senior preferred.
- Interest in project management, leadership, product development, or business operations.
- Familiarity with project planning tools, Agile concepts, or project management coursework.
- Experience leading student organizations, clubs, team projects, athletics, robotics, or other collaborative activities.
