Senior Group Leader(s) for Farmington Public Schools Extended Care & Learning Program
Current Vacancy locations:
East Farms Elementary (1) and Noah Wallace Elementary (1) Schools
Part-time positions available: 7:00am - 9:00am and/or 3:00pm - 6:00pm (3 to 5 hours per day)
Salary Range: $23.00-$23.34 per hour depending upon experience
Reports to:
EXCL District Coordinator
Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor's Degree in a relevant field (Human Development, Education, Recreation, etc.)
- 1 year experience working with children (minimum)
- CPR & First Aid and Epi-pen current. If not current must be obtained with in one month
Professional
Qualifications:
- Be able to work independently and as part of a team
- Working knowledge of developmentally appropriate practices
- Effectively supervise small/large groups of children
- Assume Site Supervisor responsibilities, as outlined in training in the event of a Site Supervisor absence.
- Have effective communication skills, written and verbal with both children and adults.
- Be able to develop behavior management systems for large groups and individual students as needed.
- Be enthusiastic and creative in carrying out program activities
Duties will include, but not limited to:
- Ensure safety of children:
Follow all EXCL policies and procedures
Never leave a child alone
Proper supervision at all times
Effective use of space
Observe unfamiliar people on the grounds and approach them
Be aware of authorized pick-ups
- Implementation of activities
- Meet with school personnel as needed
- Develop thorough knowledge of program policies/procedures
- Positive interactions with children
- Plan and implement activities for all programs
- Attendance at staff meetings and trainings
- Positive and age appropriate discipline
- Create a safe and welcoming environment for children and adults where they feel comfortable and secure
- Assume equal share of housekeeping duties
Keeping classroom and other areas neat and organized
Snack/Project set up and clean up
Vacuuming/wiping down after large program
Perform additional duties as assigned by Supervisor
