The Manager, Information Technology is responsible for the reliable day-to-day operation of technology services that support faculty, staff, and students. This hands-on technical role oversees the school's core infrastructure, enterprise systems, cybersecurity, and cloud services while ensuring the secure implementation and ongoing support of technology solutions.
Primary responsibilities include administering Active Directory and identity management, Windows Server and macOS environments, VMware virtualization, enterprise wireless solution, campus firewall, Cisco switching and routing network infrastructure, Microsoft Azure/Microsoft Entra , Microsoft 365, Google Workspace for Education, Zoom Phone, enterprise backup solution, network access control, SIEM, system-wide antivirus and cybersecurity technologies.
- Serve as the primary subject matter expert and administrator for the school's enterprise infrastructure.
- Administer and support VMware virtualization, Windows Server, Active Directory, Group Policy, Microsoft 365, Microsoft Azure/ Microsoft Entra , Google Workspace for Education, and Cisco switching and routing network infrastructure.
- Manage identity and access management (IAM), NAC, multi-factor authentication (MFA), privileged access, endpoint protection, vulnerability management, and disaster recovery processes, remote VPN access.
- Monitor, maintain, and optimize network, server, cloud, and virtualization environments to ensure high availability, performance, and security.
- Administer Zoom Phone and VoIP services, including user provisioning, call queues, auto attendants, licensing, and reporting.
- Assist in developing and maintaining cybersecurity policies, incident response procedures, security audits, and regulatory compliance consistent with K-12 independent school data privacy standards.
- Evaluate, implement, and support new technologies while maintaining the security and stability of existing systems.
- Support organization with UniFLOW Online cloud based printing
- Minimum of 7-10 years of progressively responsible experience supporting enterprise IT infrastructure.
- Experience administering VMware virtualized environments.
- Strong experience with Windows file, application and web servers, Active Directory, DNS, DHCP, Group Policy, Microsoft 365, and enterprise identity management.
- Strong knowledge of Cisco switching and routing networking, and related technologies.
- Experience managing Microsoft Azure/ Microsoft Entra Google Workspace cloud environments.
- Thorough understanding of cybersecurity principles, including identity and access management, endpoint security, vulnerability management, Security Information and Event Management, disaster recovery, and data protection.
- Experience administering Zoom Phone or comparable cloud-based phone systems.
- Excellent troubleshooting, customer service, and communication skills, with the ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical users.
- Demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities while maintaining a high level of professionalism and responsiveness.
- Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Computer Information Systems, or a related field
- Equivalent combinations of education, certifications, and work experience will be considered
- Cisco certification (CCNA, CCNP, or equivalent) strongly preferred
- Cybersecurity certification (Security+, CISSP, CISM, CEH, or equivalent) strongly preferred
- VMware certifications(s) a plus
Primarily sedentary work, including prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and using a computer.
Ability to walk moderate distances between buildings and navigate the work environment.
Ability to move throughout the workplace as needed to perform job duties.
Occasionally required to lift, carry, or move computer equipment and other technology-related materials.
Ability to use hands and fingers for keyboarding, mouse operation, and other computer-related tasks.
Work is primarily performed in an office environment with regular use of computers, telephones, and other technology.
May occasionally work in areas containing computer hardware, networking equipment, servers, or other technology infrastructure.
