Executive Director of Development, UConn Health

Bryant Group is pleased to partner with the University of Connecticut Foundation in their search for a strategic fundraising leader to serve as Executive Director of Development, UConn Health
. Reporting to and collaborating closely with the Senior Associate Vice President for Health Giving, the Executive Director provides leadership and direction for philanthropic initiatives that advance UConn Health’s growing inpatient and outpatient enterprise and its mission of exceptional patient care, clinical innovation and hospital-based education and research.

The Executive Director will lead and champion a comprehensive health giving strategy that strengthens grateful patient philanthropy and broadens support from community partners, hospital champions and corporate and foundation prospects. As a senior fundraising partner to UConn Health leadership, including the CEO and clinical program chiefs, this leader will help build an innovative culture of philanthropy across service lines, align donor strategy with enterprise priorities and elevate the philanthropic resources needed to advance critical clinical and operational initiatives.

The job requires a Bachelor's degree and at least 7 years of experience as a major gift fundraiser and/or relevant transferable skills with a strong preference for those with a background in healthcare philanthropy in a complex hospital and/or healthcare system. The ideal candidate is a senior fundraising leader who can build and carry out a clear strategy that supports hospital growth, research and patient care goals, while working closely with executives and physicians to turn priorities into strong fundraising opportunities.

The role also requires leading and developing a high-performing team, maintaining strong systems and compliance practices, and successfully securing major and transformational gifts to meet ambitious revenue goals.
