Westaff is Hiring for 2nd Shift Manual Machinists in Farmington, CT!
Shift: 3:30 PM – 12:00 AM Pay Rate: $22.00 per hour
Position OverviewWe are currently seeking a skilled Manual Machinist to join our team on 2nd shift. This position will start directly on second shift and is ideal for someone with hands‑on machining experience who takes pride in precision and quality workmanship.
Manual Machinist Responsibilities:- Set up and operate cut-off saws following sheets, cut sheets, or verbal instructions.
- Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and work instructions
- Select the appropriate extrusion from storage and position it on the saw table for cutting.
- Activate machines to cut various aluminum parts, making necessary adjustments for depth of cuts and setting machines to automatic cycles.
- remove finished assemblies to designated areas and prepare them for shipment as required.
- Clean and lubricate machines regularly, maintaining oil or coolant levels.
- Follow all company safety standards and procedures
Qualifications:
- Previous operating cut-off saws or similar machinery in manufacturing setting.
- Ability to read blueprints and use precision measuring tools (calipers, micrometers, gauges)
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
- Reliable attendance and punctuality
