Job Requirements (Qualifications)
  • Minimum 2 years recent ICU and/or Emergency Department nursing experience — critical care nurse experience required
  • Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in Connecticut
  • Current CPR and ACLS certifications
  • NIH Stroke Scale certification
  • EPIC EMR experience preferred (experience with electronic medical records advantageous for ICU RN jobs)
  • Flu and COVID-19 vaccination required (medical/religious exemptions considered)
Responsibilities — Critical Care Nursing
  • Float between ICU, Intermediate Care, and Emergency Department units to provide critical care nursing support as part of the Float Pool
  • Deliver high-quality, compassionate care to critically ill patients; manage complex patient needs typical of ICU and ED settings
  • Monitor and assess patient conditions, administer medications, and perform clinical nursing interventions
  • Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare teams to develop and implement individualized patient care plans
  • Accurately document patient care using EPIC EMR and follow hospital documentation standards
  • Participate in orientation, clinical training, and continuing education to maintain critical care nursing excellence
  • Adhere to hospital policies, procedures, and safety standards; mandatory overtime may be required as part of the unit rotation pool to ensure coverage
